EMCO Remote Shutdown is a piece of software to shutdown remote computers. It allows you to control the power management of network computers. We can do a remote shutdown, Wake-on-LAN, reboot, power off, hibernate and other operations.
The shutdown schedule is helpful in turning off computers at an office or school. The software has a very good graphical user interface (GUI) just like Office 2007. Scheduled tasks are shown in a timeline. Logs on previous shutdown operations are automatically saved. The network browser section lets you see all the computers in your network. We can group different computers together and create a new task for them.
To manage various domains, workgroups and PCs you need to have an administrative access to them. Thus, the program requires usernames and passwords to shutdown a computer.
You can also define the behavior of any particular task. You may provide an option for the remote user to cancel shutdown. For every operation, you will get a status report.
The program can be used to turn on computers if the remote computer has support for Wake-on-LAN in the BIOS.
